Dreaming in Stress

This week I have been anxious in my dreams.

From the mild- dreaming that I arrived in Madison to visit my sister and realizing that I hadn’t packed any makeup or my pills. Or dreaming that I got an adorable new kitten but then realizing that my socially-challenged, special needs, 8-year-old cat would flip out at the introduction of a sibling.

To the more moderate, dreaming that my teeth are falling out.

To extreme levels of anxiety. Two separate dreams last night: in one my father was arrested and charged with murder. In the second Mohammad was arrested and charged with murder.

Perhaps its related to current stress levels associated with the final days of the Georgia General Assembly.

Last week with no warning, the House added the worst possible death penalty language to a bill moments before it was to be voted on. We managed to get the bad language removed the following day, but the stress of that 48 hours likely shaved a year or two off of my life.

Today in a committee meeting, a crazy legislator tried to amend a bill about dog-fighting to turn it into a horrendous anti-abortion measure that would provide for the death penalty for doctors who perform abortions.

No wonder I’m having nightmares.

ugh sara i'm so sorry. i recently spent eight hours at night "filing grievances" on kids in prison. i apparently even announced in my sleep how busy i was. then i went to work the next morning and had to do it all over again. i think we should get credit for all the things we do in our sleep.

Anxiety dreams are no fun. Especially back to back in a row like that. Ick.

booo my comment disappeared! okay, so first off, if you forget your makeup and pills, I have extra and we can go shopping. don't you worry.

second, I had dreams about having my teeth pulled, and they were attached to cement columns about three inches deep. teeth dreams are awful.

third, when you're here, how do you feel about laying on the couch, eating cake, and watching tv/eating cake/playing guitar hero? like, for the whole weekend...

So glad you are escaping to Madison...

I about lost my shit with the Hawks today. Geeze. And I too have had nightmares 3 nights in a row now. The night before last I dreamed I parallel parked on my street and tapped my neighbors bumper. Everyone said that I made their car gay and I owed them $28,300 in repairs.

think there may be some homophobia at the Capitol too?

and me thinks I think about economic damages too much...
